Race description
Arctic Circle Race is a mountain trail race in the middle of the mountain range where participants are flown out by helicopter to the start at Guijaure and run approximately 18 km along the Arctic Circle back to civilization. The race is a mix of adventure and competition and offers optional helicopter transfer or the possibility to hike to the start on your own. The course is technical and varied with narrow trails, rocky outcrops, and a short but steep climb called "the wall." Arctic Circle Race 2026 is held on Saturday, August 8, and prices are listed separately for participants with and without helicopter transfer.
Highlights
- Helicopter drop-off at the start at Guijaure and running along the Arctic Circle (approx. 18 km).
- Varied, rocky, and often narrow mountain terrain with the steep climb "the wall" at ~8 km and the last ~4 km steep descent.

Optional helicopter transfer (with or without helicopter). Share helicopter by registering multiple participants at the same time - continuous start numbers and same start time. Check-in, parking, and helicopter pickup at Camp Polcirkeln, Polcirkeln 3, 93894 Arjeplog. Timing is done with a chip integrated into the bib. First aid and staff are available at the water stations, and a helicopter is on standby for serious incidents.
