Race description
Kalmar Backyard Ultra is a unique ultrarunning event held on a 6,706-metre loop, with the start at 10:00. The race follows the original format: each lap must be completed within one hour to continue, and the next start is on the hour. The winner is the person who completes one more lap than the others. The 6,706-metre distance was chosen because 24 laps equal 100 miles, a dream distance for many ultrarunners, but everyone is welcome regardless of ambition.
