Kanallöpet

Kanallöpet is a welcoming running event along the Göta Canal between Ljungsbro and Borensberg, open to competitive runners, recreational runners and families. In 2026, the event offers a half marathon (competitive and recreational categories) as well as recreational 10 km and 5 km races, and this year’s edition has DM/VDM status for the half marathon. All races start at 13:00 from their respective start locations, and the finish is at Bergvallen sports ground in Borensberg. The race is promoted as a competition in beautiful Swedish countryside and also offers team registration.

Transport: Buses are arranged from Borensberg to the respective start locations (the half marathon to Ljungsbro, the 10 km to Sjöbacka, and the 5 km to Brunneby) and must be booked and paid for when registering. No transport is provided after the finish; places may be available on race day, subject to availability. The bus fee listed on the registration pages is 100 kr. Team registration: teams of 5 runners, all in the same category; the price per runner is 20% lower than for individual registration, and team registration is only available online. Race bibs are collected at the respective start locations. Registration is valid only once payment has been received; if payment has not arrived within 10 days, the registration will be cancelled. Further details will be provided later in the race instructions. Start locations: 21 km from Ljungsbro, 10 km from Sjöbacka bridge, and 5 km from Brunneby Musteri; buses to the start from Borensberg; registration via Swish or bankgiro; late registration from 11:30 to 12:30 at an increased price; race bibs are collected at the start location.
