Race description
Umemaran is a traditional marathon and half marathon race organized by Jalles TC Umeå in collaboration with IFK Umeå, starting and finishing at Tegs Centralskola. The marathon course (42 km) largely follows the Ume River via Ön and features a partly new, faster route; the course has been measured by SFIF's official course measurer, and each kilometer is marked. There are hydration stations with Umara sports drink and water approximately every four kilometers, chip timing, and shower facilities at the start area. Medals are awarded at the finish for both 42 km and 21 km, and the 42 km race is held simultaneously with the Northern Norrland Championships for seniors and veterans.
