Umemaran

Umemaran is a traditional marathon and half marathon organised by Jalles TC Umeå together with IFK Umeå, starting and finishing at Tegs Centralskola. The marathon course (42 km) follows the Ume River for much of the route, via Ön, and includes a partly new, faster section. The course has been officially measured by an SFIF course measurer, and every kilometre is marked. Water stations serving Umara sports drink and water are located approximately every four kilometres. Chip timing and shower facilities are available at the start area. Medals are awarded at the finish for both the 42 km and 21 km races, and the 42 km race is held concurrently with the Northern Norrland Championships for senior and veteran runners.

Timing is by chip (chips must be returned at the finish); race numbers and chips are collected at Tegs Centralskola no later than 45 minutes before the start. Late entries can be made at the start venue by Swish or cash. Showers are available in Jubileumshallen (basement level) for men and women. Prize ceremonies: 21 km immediately after finishing; 42 km at approximately 16:20 in the auditorium. The entry fee includes a participant medal, an Umara energy bar, coffee and a sandwich; Team Sportia Ersboda raffles a bicycle among 42 km finishers who are present at the prize ceremony. Start times (according to the 2025 invitation): 42 km at 11:00; 21 km at 11:30. Fees: Half marathon SEK 300 (late entry SEK 400); Marathon SEK 500 (late entry SEK 600).
