Blodomloppet

Blood Race in Karlskrona is a fitness event that highlights the vital importance of blood donation and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Participants can choose to walk, jog, or run over distances of 5 km or 10 km, and also participate in the children's race over 800 meters or in a special walking class over 5 km. The race is open to both individual participants and teams, and concludes with a communal picnic for all participants. The courses are officially measured and approved for competition, with designated routes for walkers to enable a joint finish. Blood Race is one of Sweden's largest health initiatives and attracts many participants each year.

The race offers individual and team registrations (up to 5 people per team). Team participants can compete in different distances. Discounts are available for blood donors and ICA members (40 SEK per person). Large registrations can be managed via an Excel template and customer portal in the registration system. Walkers are released first on their own route to facilitate a joint picnic after the race. There are changing facilities, toilets, water stations, medical services, and options for free transportation to and from the event. The race is officially measured and approved by the Swedish Athletics Association. Participants can run on-site or participate remotely between May 17 and September 7, 2027. The starter kit includes a shirt, medal, and bib number. The event offers discounts for blood donors and ICA members.
