Race description
Peak Performance Vertical K is a prestigious, fast, and demanding uphill race held annually on Tuesday evenings during Kia Fjällmaraton. The race starts in a mass start from Åre Square and finishes at the top of Åreskutan, with exactly 1000 vertical meters of elevation gain. Expect maximum effort from start to finish; the course records to beat are Emmie Collinge's 46:24 and Kilian Jornet's 39:13. The organizer collaborates with Peak Performance, which has developed a training program for those who want to prepare specifically for Vertical K.

Prize money is awarded to the top 3 in the men's and women's categories. The organizer has created a 6-week training program in the Peak Performance Strava club. A course map is published (map_verticalk.png on the website). It is unique as Sweden's only vertical kilometer according to sources; part of Fjällmaratonveckan (Kia Fjällmaraton week) and AXA Fjällmaraton week according to blog posts; the course is said to be approximately 5 km long according to the blog, and there is a training link via the Peak Performance Strava club.
