Race description
Stora Stöten Run is a trail race in the World Heritage Site Falu Gruva offering a historic and varied running experience. The course passes medieval smelting sites, miners' farms, dams, and dam houses, following old waterway systems called Vattnets Väg to the Mine. The race has three distances (21.6 km, 13.6 km, and 5.6 km) and is suitable for both competitive runners and recreational runners, with options for timing or running untimed. The organizer is the orienteering club OK Kåre, welcoming participants to the start and finish at Falu Gruva.

Start and finish at Falu Gruva; warm-up begins at 12:10 on the red-painted asphalt field at Falu Rödfärg (approximately 7 minutes) led by Friskis & Svettis; all courses start simultaneously and runners are divided into two voluntary groups based on finish pace (group 1: women ≤6 min/km, men ≤5 min/km). Optional to run with or without timing; prizes for the top three in each course and raffle prizes for other participants; possibility to register a team (3 persons) and transfer registration free of charge via the registration system; energy stations/water points, parking, race office, showers/change facilities, and course markings are mentioned in the race information.
