Vårruset

Vårruset in Västerås is a recreational run for women offering distances of 2.5 km and 5 km through central Västerås with start and finish at Lögastrand. The race is characterized by joy of movement and community and welcomes everyone regardless of training background or level of ambition. Registration can be done individually or as a team, where teams registered receive a picnic after crossing the finish line. The event is part of a long tradition since 1989 and aims to promote women's health and create an inclusive environment for exercise and socializing.

Number bib distribution takes place at Intersport in the Livli shopping center Erikslund in the days before the race. There is supervised baggage drop-off, water stations, and toilets at the event area. Picnic pickup is done with the team leader's number bib. The recommended age is 13 years for the 5 km and 11 years for the 2.5 km, younger with adult supervision. It is possible to opt out of timing during registration. Training sessions are organized in several locations before the race. Participants receive a number bib, finish bag, and medal; teams of 5 people; open to runners, joggers, and walkers; registration via the web; the event is part of the national Vårruset series.
