Vasastafetten

Vasastafetten is a festive mass-participation relay race along the classic route from Sälen to Mora. Up to ten runners share a total distance of approximately 92 km, with legs ranging from 4.5 to 15 km. The race welcomes elite runners and recreational participants, as well as teams from clubs, companies and groups of friends. The start is in Berga by in Sälen, and the event is one of the oldest competitions of the summer week. The 2026 start time is 08:00 on August 15.

Race packs containing bib numbers and an information letter are sent to the team leader approximately two weeks before the race. The timing chip is collected on race day at the Vasaloppet start in Sälen, or at the race office in Mora in the days before the event. The entry fee includes bus transport for participants on legs 1 and 2. A bus ticket to the start for leg 1 must be booked; runners on leg 2 must take the organizer's bus to Smågan. Starting corrals open at 07:30, and participants should arrive by 07:55 at the latest. The timing chip is worn as a wristband, and the relay pass must be placed visibly in the windscreen. The maximum number of participating teams is 600; the minimum age is 8.
