Västerås Marathon

Västerås Marathon is an energetic and community-oriented running event offering a flat and fast course in Västerås. The race starts in Vasaparken and features a counterclockwise route with some challenging sections, including a steep hill 400 meters from the start. Participants can enjoy water and sports drink stations as well as well-organized bib distribution and baggage drop-off. The event is characterized by running joy and a strong atmosphere, including the national anthem performed from a gondola lift at the start.

Start times: Marathon 9:00, Half Marathon 10:00, 10 km 13:00. Bib distribution and baggage drop-off open at 07:00 in the City Hall restaurant. The central station is 300 meters from the start and finish with good transportation connections. No showers or changing facilities are available. Pacers are used for speed reference with self-seeding in the start area. Medals are awarded to participants. Merchandise can be ordered on demand with shipping included. The race includes water and sports drinks, as well as the opportunity to purchase merchandise. The course passes several local landmarks and is sanctioned by the Swedish Athletics Association.
