Västerås Marathon

Västerås Marathon is an energetic, community-focused running event offering a flat, fast course in Västerås. The race starts in Vasaparken and follows a counterclockwise route with a few challenging sections, including a steep hill 400 metres from the start. Participants can enjoy water and sports drink at aid stations, as well as well-organised bib collection and bag drop. The event is characterised by the joy of running and a great atmosphere, including the national anthem performed from a cherry picker at the start.

Start times: Marathon 9:00, Half Marathon 10:00, 10 km 13:00. Bib collection and bag drop open at 07:00 in Stadshusrestaurangen. The central station is 300 m from the start and finish, with good transport links. Showers and changing facilities are not available. Pacers are provided as a pace reference; runners seed themselves in the starting corral. Participants receive a medal. Merchandise is made to order, with shipping included. The race includes water and sports drink, and merchandise is also available to buy. The course passes several local landmarks and is sanctioned by the athletics federation.
