Backyard Ultra Vänge

Backyard Ultra Vänge is a unique ultrarunning event organized by Hagunda IF, where participants run a 6.7 km loop every hour on the hour until only one runner remains. The race takes place in Vänge, about 7 km outside Uppsala along Route 72, and combines challenging terrain with a scenic natural setting and a strong sense of community. There is also a team competition with a points system that rewards fair average times and larger teams; registration opens on 18/9, and the next race is planned for 23 May 2026.

The maximum capacity is listed as 180 participants (the page shows 179/180 places filled). The race has a team competition with a points system that removes the highest and lowest results to calculate a fair average and gives bonuses to larger teams. A loop starts every hour, and only those who complete it before the hour ends can start the next loop. Results and past races are published on the event’s results page. Capacity: 180 participants; 179 places filled and 1 place remaining.
