Utö Backyard

Utö Backyard is a backyard trail race on the beautiful Utö in the Stockholm archipelago that welcomes both social runners and competitive ultrarunners. You can run one lap, several laps, or as many as you can manage - in Backyard 3.3K, 15 laps are completed for a total of 49.5 km, and in Utö Backyard Extreme, a warm-up lap is followed by 7 laps of 6.4 km each. The rules are simple: each lap must be completed within the maximum time (30 minutes for 3.3K, 60 minutes for 6.4K), and the fastest on the last lap is declared the winner. The organizers encourage making the weekend a mini-weekend with accommodation at Utö Värdshus and socializing after the race.

Start: Backyard 3.3K starts every 30 minutes (first start 10:30, last start 17:30). Extreme 6.4K starts every hour (same first start time). Award ceremony at 18:00 and food served at Utö Värdshus after the ceremony. Transportation: recommended by Vaxholmsbolaget's boat Silverpilen from Årsta Brygga (departing 09:20, arriving 10:00); last boat back departs at 19:50. Practical: bib number pickup at start/finish, limited indoor storage (bring a trash bag/cover), energy station at start/finish with drinks and snacks. Age rules/offers: youth up to 18 years old get 50% discount on 3.3K with code "UTÖUNGDOM2026"; 6.4K has an age limit of 18+. Accommodation discount of 25% at Utö Värdshus with code "UtöBackyard".
